About Born To Prosper
Our Vision
Born To Prosper is a Jersey City, New Jersey based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to fostering sustainable change by providing educational opportunities, advocacy, and support services for youth and families in need. We envision a future where every individual has the chance to succeed and lead fulfilling lives.
The leaders of Born To Prosper are professionals who were born and raised in Jersey City's Bergen-Lafayette community. Their professions include agriculture, education, television, film, music, sports management, government procurement, transportation, and entertainment. Having community leaders from Born To Prosper reflect the community gives children and families role models to aspire to and enhances their human capital through more accessible success stories.
Our Mission
Our mission at Born To Prosper is to empower underserved youth and their families through comprehensive recreational, educational programs, workforce development, and direct support services. We are committed to the belief that if given the opportunity and support, that every child can create a positive impact in their community.
By engaging with community members and stakeholders, we strive to foster inclusivity, enhance educational access, and build a supportive network that champions the needs and aspirations of youth and families. Through community outreach—including food drives and workforce & entrepreneurial development programs, resource distribution such as school and technological supplies, mentorship, and educational workshops—we uplift the community. We create sustainable opportunities for growth by strengthening families through parenting classes, supporting youth with after-school tutoring and leadership programs, and promoting financial literacy through budgeting seminars, wellness via health screenings, and community unity through neighborhood events.Born To Prosper is more than a name—it’s a movement to change the narrative.
